11 Items I Got from Amazon Prime Day as a Full-Time Content Creator
Buying items to create content is all about trial and error (Sorry, Amazon Returns)! But here are some items that I am excited about with great ratings from thousands of users.
I am currently working on building my dream creator desk. I spend so much time at my desk every day filming and editing but I have never had a desk I was proud of. The desk I currently have is one I got on clearance from a closing Office Max when I moved to LA for the first-time years ago. It is on it’s last legs.
I am huge into manifestation and I feel like a great desk set up translates to a great income. Anytime in my life that I needed to get out of a rut, I changed something about my home that symbolized the pain point.
Saturn is retrograding for me right now and I have been going through it. I decided I would stop feeling bad for myself and truly do whatever it took to find happiness every day. I feel so genuinely excited to create content every day but it is hard when you don’t always see the pay offs of your ideas. But I truly feel like these are the moments when great creators stand out from average creators. Working through the hard times.
I remember in college when I got cheated on by a boyfriend, I went and spent the last $500 I had to my name at Target getting all new bed sheets. They were the opposite colors of the bed sheets I had for years in that college aparment. It truly felt spiritual changing the decoration of my whole bedroom. It helped me cleanse myself of a bad relationship.
Changing your physical space can help change your mind set.
Prime Day for Amazon fell around the same time of year that marked my year anniversary of being a full-time creator. What a crazy year it has been! I am so lucky to have made it this far and I hope I can go for another 30 years. One thing I have learned is that, as a creator, you have to constantly be learning. I have learned so much this past year about technology and how to make the best quality video possible. I never thought I would be genuinely excited about recieving a 1 TB hard drive in the mail — but now I am.
I always wished I had someone to teach me about these things as I went. A lot of the tech equipment I acquired the last year was trial and error (sorry Amazon Returns). To save you some pain and return trips, here are the items I have used and ordered more of. Or if not, I painstakingly checked the reviews to make sure that it is something worthy for a full-time creator.
Let me know in the comments what your faovrite item is that you use every day as a creator (and it can’t be your phone).

1. Palm Desk Mat $16.99 (4.7 star rating): https://amzn.to/4bZ8cIR
I wanted to start by getting a colorful centerpiece. Right now, my desk is so tan, dirty and bland. I thought this green, palm colored mat was symbolic of green for money.
As Kendall Jenner said once: “Technically, money does grow on trees.” Maybe this palm mat will be a way to “grow” my income as a creator.
2. Wireless Keyboard and Mouse $39.99 (4.4 star rating): https://amzn.to/3WyUd7X
I usually play it safe and get accessories that match each other. But I promised myself I would take more risks. I got a peach colored keyboard to offset the palm colored desk mat. While filming at a few podcast studios this past year, I noticed that the best sets have lots of mismatched decoration. They don’t play it safe, which translates well on camera.
This bluetooth keypad and mouse pad comes in multiple colors. This green one is another favorite of mine:
3. Signature Designed L-Shape, Glass Desk $239.99 (4.7 star rating): https://amzn.to/3WdN7Vj
This is the main attraction.
The number one thing I needed was desk space. As I record my weekly podcast from my bedroom, it can be hard to manage all the different supplies I need. I wanted something white and glass because my studio apartment is really small and bright colors make it look more open.
I require tripods and laptops and ring lights and microphones. Something my tiny, clearance desk can no longer hold.
What you guys don’t see is that when I am filming, I will often have a ton of my desk supplies hiding on the floor.
For my next chapter as a creator, I wanted to have a big, giant desk that I could spread out all my stuff on. I can’t wait to decorate and show you all how it ends up looking!
4. Canon Powershot Cover $13.99 (4.3 star rating): https://amzn.to/4ffG3zY
If you guys want an industry secret, here it is: all of the top influencers use the Canon Powershot G7x.
o much so that it is almost impossible to get one unless you pay over $1,400 on Amazon or Walmart for a big “content creator pack” that comes with other items you might not need.
My friend told me about the Canon last fall. He is a big beauty creator and goes to every event. He was showing me his new Canon camera and when I saw the photos that the camera took, I was shook! I talked about this camera in a trend report recently but the difference is the flash. It makes anyone look glossy and beautiful (especially compared to the lackluster iPhone cameras).
I was able to get a Canon Powershot on Ebay used for $800. I was so scared it would be in bad shape but the camera has been working great. so far.
Because I want it to last for 10+ years, I ordered a case to protect the lens. So often, I will throw cameras in my purse as I am going from even to event. Because my used camera didn’t come with a lens cover, I am hoping this case helps protect the camera.
The case came in other cute colors, like hot pink.
5. Weekly Planner from July 2024 to December 2025 $29.95 (4.7 star rating): https://amzn.to/3y6Hct9
You guys, I tried soooooo hard to find the planner that I got from Barnes & Nobles online. But I couldn’t find it anywhere.
But I found a compareable planner on Amazon. The biggest factor for me is a weekly planner, not a “daily” planner”. I need multiple lines for each day of the week, not little squares.
When I worked at a hair salon, I was so fascinated at how they used planners that would plan out each day, down to the 15th minute of the hour. Since then, I always tried to be meticulous with planning. I love structure and it’s something I learned to give myself the last year as a full-time creator.
I am also big into manifestation and I do a silly manifestation trick that might sound insane but hear me out. At the beginning of each month, I will use a specific colored gel pen and I will write down things on specific days that I *want* to happen.
I will write down imaginary red carpet events, imaginary interviews with A-list singers, imaginary meetings with dream brands. It sounds crazy but dare I say it works?
I am also meticulous about going back and documenting every little thing I did each week. Especially, accomplishments. I like to go back years later to old planners and see when pivotal moments in my career were taking place.
Planners not only let you manifest the future but they also help you remember to celebrate your accomplishments.
6. USB-C Memory Card Converter $13.99 (4.5 star rating): https://amzn.to/4fhwBfG
This might look so boring, I know. But it is actually so clutch if you are at an event and taking pictures on your digital camera.
This device is small and can go in my purse. It allows me to download the high quality pictures directly to my iPhone and post them to Instagram. Here is one selfie I took using my new Canon that I sent to my iPhone that same moment and posted to IG:
Without this device, you would have to upload the pictures to your laptop then AirDrop them to your phone as you go. Being a great and timely creator is about making it as easy as possible to post on the fly.
Sometimes at an event, it is not always about who got the best content but about who posted it first.
7. LaCie Hard Drive 1 TB $93.46 (4.6 star rating): https://amzn.to/3LySucC
Another boring but necessary one. I have to edit videos constantly on my laptop and it is on it’s last legs when it comes to storage space. Having a hard drive lets you upload the files to a drive (instead of your computer) and as a result, the files upload so much faster.
I also hate that I used to delete so many videos and pictures off my phone and laptop whenever I hit the storage limit. I even started holding on to old phones so I can keep the photos (I know iCloud exists but it confuses me so much lol).
I just ordered a second hard drive since my first one is almost full with podcast and “Middle Row” interviews. I am holding on to all the BTS in case there is a documentary one day.
I ordered a pack of $4 stickers from Amazon so I can differentiate my hard drives.
When I went to Coachella, I stayed in an AirBNB with a few professional photographers and these LaCie hard drives were laying all over the house. So if you needed proof that this is the best hard drive, there it is!
8. Samsung Curved Monitor 27” $179.99 (4.4 star rating): https://amzn.to/46gkIT6
I am so excited for this purchase! I used to have a monitor at my apartment when I worked at BuzzFeed but it was something I had to return when I retired.
This monitor is a must if you edit videos, as a creator. I have been editing videos from my laptop and sometimes the small screen makes it so hard to catch little mistakes.
The curved monitor also makes me feel professional as a creator which will, hopefully, translate to a thriving YouTube career. I always associate editing TikToks on my iPhone but the big shot YouTube videos are edited on a monitor.
9. Small Desktop Bookshelf $25.99 (4.4 star rating): https://amzn.to/3W9oGbu
I have the most random bookshelf that currently holds all my camera equipment. It is on the opposite side of the room as my desk and behind the table that my boyfriend sews at.
I am constantly rummaging through it and afraid that I will drop a camera and ruin a lens. I got this shelf as a way to store my cameras and equipment in an organized way on my desk. And it will look cute in the background of my videos, which is a bonus.
10. Pegzone Desk Organizer $32.99 (4.7 star rating): https://amzn.to/46lhFsO
This was another purchase that I made to make my content creation game easier. Sometimes something as simple as not being able to find a place to put my planner and notebook before filming a video can be enough of a pain to make me not want to film anymore.
My goal is to make this experience as easy as possible for myself. I want to do the hard work now of assembling a desk and storage for all my equipment that it makes the actual filming task much easier.
The fact that this hangs down also makes it great for clearing up more desk space on top, which is my number 1 priority.
11. Sony Wireless, Noise Canceling Headphones $398.00: https://amzn.to/4cU8aDq
This is my last, big purchase from Prime Day and I am going out with a bang.
I was gifted these headphones from Sony about two years ago and I gave one pair to my boyfriend and one to my little sister. I used to sneak and use my boyfriend’s when he wasn’t using them. They are SO GOOD.
I always knew I would eventually get these once I was over my AirPods. AirPods are hard for my because they always fall out of my ears. I came to peace with the fact that I am a clunky headphone kind of girl.
Because I am always editing at coffee shops (being a creator is lonely), I need noise-cancelling headphones that let me edit without distraction. I am wearing these headphones as we speak.
Another great thing is how long the battery lasts. I charge them about once-a-week and use them for a couple hours each day. I am sure that won’t last forever but it has been nice, so far.
They also use the USB-C charger that my new iPhone and Macbook use which makes it easy to swap out what is charging without worrying about plugging and unplugging the different outlets.
Super cute keyboard ⌨️ . I love hearing about your Manifestation tricks! ✨ <3
