7 Amazon Items That Helped My iPhone Videos Go More Viral

One of the most asked questions I get in my comments is about the microphone that I often hold in videos. When I first began using a microphone in TikToks, I noticed my videos started to perform way better. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube are ones that people most likely use with their volume on (unlike an IG or Twitter, where people scroll without needing audio). People often focus on the lighting but not the sound. I also think holding something in my hand helped my brain process the information I was sharing differently. It was like a crutch, in the best way possible.
1. HANDHELD MIC (MY HAMSTER)
The first microphone I used was a gray, fuzzy one that my audience said looked like a hamster. I got this one off Amazon and it was shortly after that I made my first viral trend prediction video that changed my life. When I posted a TikTok Shop video about the microphone, it sold out in less than 24 hours.
You can find the microphone on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3V319to
2. MIC ADAPTER
Make sure to get the plug-in adapter for your phone. It is the same type of adapter you might use to connect an old pair of chord headphones into your iPhone.
If you have an iPhone that is a model 14 or lower, you will need this adapter: https://amzn.to/44KNmLc
If you have an iPhone 15 or any Android with a USB-C charging port, you will use this adapter: https://amzn.to/3QPvXvj
3. BLUETOOTH MICS (HOLLYLAND)
The last year, I have been using a microphone pack from Hollyland. They are a bit more expensive than the hand-held hamster. But they are bluetooth so you can sit further away from the actual phone recording. People use these types of microphones for street interview or gym videos.
You can find the Hollyland microphone here. The two pack comes in various colors and I prefer the two for when I am filming with a friend or doing an interview: https://amzn.to/3V4mvH0
This microphone is the highest quality of the various that I have tried. I get a lot of comments asking for the brand. The new packs come with adapters for various phone and camera plug-ins.
They use a USB-C charger so I am able to plug it into my iPhone or Macbook charger. The battery usually lasts me up to a week if I am filming for an hour each day.
I tested the noise-cancelling mics on the patio of my NYC hotel with construction below me. It was fascinating to hear the difference in mic vs no mic. You can watch the video here:
4. SQUARE LIGHT
My next recommendation is the square light. Not ring light. Square light. I hate ring lights because they never get bright enough (in my opinion). But this square light covers more space and the battery lasts me about a week, as well.
You can find the IVISII G2 Pocket G2B Camera Light here: https://amzn.to/3VdtFc5
My biggest pain point with ring lights was that they were often very cheap material and broke after a few charges. The battery never lasted long. Sometimes the clip would break when putting it on my phone or laptop.
But this light has not let me down. I have gifted it to my mom for her eBay listings and my sister for her cooking videos on TikTok.
You can adjust the warmth and brightness. But be careful! If it is at above 75% light, do NOT look directly at it. It gets bright.
Like the Hollyland mics, this is a recommended brand by Amazon. You can keep it sitting on your desk where you film or attach it to a camera or phone tripod.
5. HARD DRIVE (BORING BUT NECESSARY)
My next suggestion is a hard drive. I know, this one is a bit boring. But if you struggle with notifications that say your iPhone or laptop storage is almost full due to all your videos, then this is a great tool to have. I will upload my videos and pictures to this hard drive and clear them off my Macbook.
I started doing this, especially, when news of the TikTok ban started picking up. It is a way for me to hold on to some of my more viral TikTok videos that I might want to reupload to another platform one day.
You can find the hard drive I use here: https://amzn.to/3K4yA8D
It comes with a USB-C plug-in so I am able to plug it in directly to my laptop.
6. TRIPOD THAT WON’T FALL OVER WITH THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PHONE
My next suggestion is a tripod. This sounds self-explanatory but I have gone through a lot of tripods in my day and I have some I hate and some I love.
The tripod I use for my desk is linked here: https://amzn.to/3QOYmkX
Cheaper tripods are flimsy and fall forward with the weight of an iPhone. This one holds its own and I can attach my ring light or microphone stand to it.
7. OCTO CASE
My last suggestion is an octo-case! This has a few suction cups and you can place it on any wall or window to act as a makeshift tripod (just be respectful if filming in public).
You can find Amazon’s pick for octocase here: https://amzn.to/3V2uILv
I got this one from pop socket. You need a magsafe case to use it but you can also get octo-cases without a magsafe option.
I honestly love this just to stick my phone on the bathroom mirror when I am getting ready while I watch videos. I have filmed a couple videos with my new octo-case that have picked up in views. I love that you can decide the angle and you are not at the mercy of balancing your phone on a half empty water bottle.
Let me know if you order any items from this list and good luck making your viral videos!
