Did Emma Chamberlain "guerrilla market" her way into Sabrina Carpenter's Coachella set?
Emma Chamberlain was spotted holding a sign during Sabrina Carpenter's Coachella set. But was it accidental or evil genius?
One of the most talked about performers of Coachella 2024 (besides the headliners) was Sabrina Carpenter. She has had a huge rise since the viral clips of her “non-sense” outro at her “emails I can’t send” tour last year + opening for the “Era’s Tour” with Taylor Swift late last year.
The anticipation was at an all-time high and she released her single “Espresso” the day before she performed at Coachella weekend 1. The music video is at almost 10 million views in 10 days and was her first Hot 100 Top 10 song, debuting at No. 7 on the Billboard charts.

Now back to Coachella! Weekend 1 there was someone in the audience holding a sign asking her to play “Espresso”. This might have been planted and if so, genius. But for weekend two, internet personality Emma Chamberlain was the one conveniently holding the sign saying, “Please! Please! Please! Play Espresso”.
A TikTok video capturing the moment now has 1 million + views:
Why would Emma Chamberlain be the one holding the sign? Well, she owns a coffee brand called, “Chamberlain Coffee”. They sell variants of espresso. Now, when you google, “Emma Chamberlain Espresso” — the link to buy her product on their official website or Amazon comes up as a link before the viral video.
What made it feel planted to me was that she was holding the sign upside down. To me, that was the perfect imperfection to make it seem “authentic”. And in a sea of people holding signs, what are the odds that Sabrina Carpenter would call out the one sign that is upside down? And what are the odds the cameras were coincidentally placed in front of her?
If this was planted then it was genius! I would not be surprised if we see a Chamberlain Coffee x Sabrina Carpenter collab soon. Maybe this was a way to test the water.
Emma Chamberlain relaunched her TikTok recently with the bio saying, “im back lol”. She made headlines in 2020 when she deleted her TikTok. She is one of the few creators that are big enough to maintain her fame this long without having to do the same rats race on TikTok as every other influencer and celebrity. For that, I commend her!
As always, let me know your thoughts!
