this is such a great read! I’m based in Australia so I’m interested to see how the sale/non-sale will impact internationally. especially how it the audience migration could impact more typically long-form platforms
amazing read! i am now motivated to make physical copies of my videos and photos so they won't just disappear into thin air. i also very much agree that to be an online creator, you need to be adaptable with the current of the social media. this is very insightful, thank you! <3
I really enjoyed and loved this article. I have a feeling TikTok might disappear. Today in my FYP, a lot of people were promoting the purple ticket incentive.
Wonderfully written! I feel this so hard.. I giddily jumped on the TikTok bandwagon when it all began (actually when it was still Musical.ly to make videos with my nieces ahaha) and for a while it was the platform that brought me the most views (and sales of my poetry book) above all else. In 2022 I basically only posted there. Now I never post there because TikTok doesn't show my 25k followers my videos.. ever.. only about 200 people see them. It changed so much and it's scary to think if I'd kept all my eggs in that basket now that it might be banned. What a wild landscape! I was really rooting for them, too but I've also become so annoyed with all the ads!
loved this! – i also discovered my voice on TikTok while simultaneously falling in love with the creative process of content creation. the silver lining i've chosen to embrace is that if i could achieve what i did on TikTok, i can do it anywhere—on any platform or in any digital space. something true for everyone. – thinking of all the creators this will impact 🤍
Do you think TikTok is going to sell to a U.S. company or will they disappear for good?

It was a good run in the US for sure. I never really did it myself, but there were plenty that I enjoyed in the past.
Really loves your point of view and this piece
